Welcome to the personal site
of Jesse Harvey. My name is Jesse Harvey, I was
born and raised in the small town of Almond, NY. In May I will be completing
my sophomore year at Rochester
Institute of Technology in the Computer Engineering program. As
a candidate for the BS/MS program I am required to begin my co-op education
with a summer 2006 placement. I am actively searching for an opening
that will give me an opportunity to apply my knowledge and improve my
skills while furthering my education. One of the greatest benefits of
the CE program is that in addition to dealing with computer software
and programming, we also learn the hardware aspect of computers. My
coursework so far has concentrated on programming with an introduction
to digital logic and circuitry. I have become skilled with JAVA and
I am familiar with C++, VHDL, Assembly, and PHP. My employment last summer at Alfred
University not only advanced my computer knowledge, but it also gave
me the opportunity to install and debug hardware and software, set up
workstations and servers, and train professors in person and through
email. I am frequently called upon by members of my community to remove
viruses and spyware, install and configure new hardware and software,
as well as perform general maintenance on home computers. I am a patient
person and I do not mind troubleshooting and working through a problem
to find a solution. Fortunately, RIT is a very career
oriented school. Many of my classes have been centered around complex
projects and group work. Through these courses and my years as a boy
scout, I have had an opportunity to develop excellent interpersonal
and leadership skills. I am very motivated and I am comfortable working
in both group and individual situations. |
